Safety Committee Update9/21/2020:
Door County has moved up to the ‘high risk’ category based on confirmed COVID-19 cases. Keeping this information in mind, as well as our own church member survey results, the advice of local Public Health officials, the guidance of the Wisconsin Council of Churches and the United Church of Christ, Hope Church’s indoor spaces are closed to users, with the following exceptions:
- staff members conducting assigned work responsibilities
- staff members needing access to resources for off-site work
- staff members and lay leadership needing access to technology or resources
- individual members needing access for church related business
The safety committee will re-evaluate the use of the buildings and outdoor spaces periodically as the county’s risk status changes. These standards apply to all church-sponsored activities whether conducted on-campus or off.
We are aware that many of you, like us, long to be together in-person. Church committees will plan outdoor activities for as long as weather conditions permit and are thinking creatively about how to facilitate safe opportunities to stay connected during the coming winter months. The safety committee’s primary goal is to keep our church membership and our church staff both safe and healthy!
