As an audiologist with 30 years of experience in the fitting of hearing aids, whose retired engineer husband installed over 50 hearing loops locally to the benefit of my hard of hearing patients, I have become heavily involved in the national advocacy campaign for wider use of hearing loops and for this purpose I maintain an informational website (www.loopwisconsin.com).
As of June 1, 2014 I have officially retired from my private practice to devote all my time as the HLAA National Hearing Loop Advocate. My focus is on education of consumers, audiologists and hearing healthcare professionals, clergy and A/V professionals.
In my role as hearing loop advocate, I collaborate with HLAA volunteers in the United States to increase awareness about hearing loss and the need for an increase in the use of hearing loops to improve hearing accessibility. I offer my public speaking and advocacy skills to help HLAA Chapters as well as audiologists and hearing care professionals around the country to start hearing loop initiatives of their own.
Who should attend? Anyone who wants to improve hearing accessibility for public venues and the clients or visitors they serve, Hearing aid users who want to hear better, Family members of hearing aid users.
THIS MEETING IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND FREE FOR ALL ATTENDEES
