When I was first asked if I would like to be able to BLOG on the website the idea sounded pretty interesting and still does. The notion of having my words out in the public forum and sharing my thoughts on issues sounds like a fascinating idea. But it is not the ego centric thought that what I have to say might make a difference in the world. Rather it is believing in my heart and soul that everything we do to enlarge the community of faithful enhances the opportunity for peace and understanding; cross culturally, across the ‘borders’ of faith, and in our homes.
My theme and goal in this weekly endeavor is to “Enhance and Enlarge the Community of Faithful”. That means that if there are a dozen people reading and a few of them pass my comments and thoughts along to others who might read them and pass the thoughts along then eventually there may be success. But success is not in numbers, success is finding one more person who seeks hope in the world through an understanding that the path to the Sacred is for all people and not limited to one path.
Yes, I think God (or that which we worship or consider Sacred) is not to be limited to having been revealed through Jesus. All that we consider Sacred are revelations which, in culturally specific ways and in times appropriate to human development, have shown people a particular path to God.
Much more about that in weeks to come.
